​​My name is Beatriz de Rijke (she/her, 1991) BEA1991 – I am a Dutch-English audiovisual artist and songwriter with a background in aerial acrobatics. Because of my personal fluidity, overall beliefs and the variety of my work, I describe myself as a Pantheist Artist.

I get excited about writing progressive pop music; working with popular elements while pushing boundaries on what could be experienced as accessible.
For me sonic intelligence is found in “gilding the lily of human errors”. 

Alongside producing and self-releasing music for over ten years now, I undertake projects that explore fashion and design, photography, acting and art direction. My music would not exist without these projects, and vice versa. 

Being a self-taught artist all my work to date is greatly led by autodidact processes, alongside my interest for pop-satire and contemplative animism.

I’ve written music for other artists like Dev Hynes & Blood Orange, Sega Bodega and Porches, and have toured alongside Caroline Polacheck, Robyn, Yves Tumor, Blood Orange and Kirin J Callinan. I’ve played shows throughout the US, Europe, Latin America and a few in Asia. 

Since 2021 I tour less and have started a consultancy practice where I help other artists get to the core of their creator desires. 

The shows that I dó perform are carefully curated and often made bespoke to collaborate intentionally with the venue, client or program at hand. 

My music career as BEA1991 spans from 2014 to the present day. The full BEA1991 discography is self-released through my label BE.AWORLD.
